[Notepad-plus-plus] cannot change tab size

Hi. I'm trying to change the default tab size in Notepad++ from 4 to 2. It
won't let me do that. If I click on the 4 a dialog appears and I can
change the number, but nothing happens when I close the dialog. Please
help. Thanks

Thanks David O. Might this be a needed change to the program? There's no
way to figure this out except by trial and error which I didn't do enough
of.

Instead of closing the dialog, just hit the enter key.  I had the same
problem.
