I've noticed a few minor bugs...

1. The "hide lines" option (Alt+H, View > Hide lines, or from right-click menu)
is not retained when switching to another document or closing the application.
Code folding wasn't retained in 4.9, but that appears to have been fixed in
4.9.2.

2. In the Style Configurator, the default extension now overrides the user extension.
For example, I use .php as a user extension for the HTML (mainly so HTML <tag>
auto-closing works in PHP files). Until v4.9, NP++ set .php files as the HTML
language, but it now sets them to PHP.

I'm not sure if everyone would agree this is a bug, but I'd expect the user
extension preference to override any default extensions?

3. In the TextFX settings menu, the tick next to a chosen option isn't shown
after a restart (although the option is still set correctly).

4. It would be great if the window transparency settings were retained after
NP++ was closed.

5. In the Explorer extension, the last opened file remains underlined even when
that file is closed (that could be an Explorer bug, but I didn't notice it in
previous versions of NP++).

Finally, a feature request: SciTE allows you to switch between proportional
and monospace fonts using ALT+F11. It's really handy, since I prefer proportional
most of the time, but it's handy to switch to monospace in certain instances.

Notepad++ is still the best code editor available. Keep up the fantastic work
and ignore all the morons who can't accept your right to free speech on your
own website!

Another one:
Starting in Win2000, crashes on launch unless we apply the old fix of
rename of the \plugins directory. I have not yet trawled to find which
plugin (or combination) is the offending one(s).

It'll be nice that you can help us to identify the plugin causes the crash.

The hide lines behaviour is fixed by Harry. It'll come with v5.0.
The user extension should override the default one. I'll take a look in code
for that.
TextFX is done by Chris, it seems that the plugin is not maintained anymore
by him.
I'll consider to remember the transparency, but I promise you nothing.

Hi Don,
Removed all DLLs, from \plugins, and added back one at a time.

Offending one that causes launch-gpf, is HexEditor.dll

- all others seem able to co-exist and launch OK in Win2000.

hth.

One more minor problem - the Replace function finds the same variable repeatedly
if you click Replace.

Example:
Paste in the following text..
abc
def
xyz
abc
def
xyz
abc
def
xyz

Use Ctrl-H to replace, type abc in the Find what and abc2 in Replace with.
Click Replace 3 times, and now the file looks like this:
abc222
def
xyz
abc
def
xyz
abc
def
xyz

It should look like this:
abc2
def
xyz
abc2
def
xyz
abc2
def
xyz

Replace All works properly - it doesn't find the same token repeatedly.

Regards,
Peter

This is corrected in the upcoming v5.0, so hold on tight :)

Another bug - WinXP SP2

Summary: When indenting multiple lines of text where the first selected line
is tabbed or spaced in, no lines starting at Col 1 are indented.

Sample text
######################################
aaa
bbb
ccc
ddd
eee
fff
ggg
######################################

Highlight lines 1-3, indent - all 3 lines indent.
Highlight lines 2-4, indent - "bbb" and "ddd" will indent, but "ccc" will not.
BUG.
Highlight lines 5-7, indent - all 3 lines indent.

Let's try that again, since all the whitespace auto-formatted itself away...
